Seeing that Mrs has started this new category, it’ll be very one-sided wouldn’t it if all the posts were from Mrs?

So I shall contribute too :)

Somehow Mrs has a knack of observing and finding the most appropriate gift at the most appropriate time. & not only that, it’s always great fun to guess what the gift is with her witty clues!

For eg, “You need this gift, you’ll definitely use it. In fact, you’ll use it almost every day.”

“The current one that you’re using is actually mine.”

Turns out it’s a mechanical pencil! I’ve been using Mrs’ mechanical pencil (since she doesn’t appear to be using it), conveniently placing it in my laptop bag ;)

Mommy love KK, KK love Mommy…

Mrs has been singing this song non-stop, and now Mr can’t seem to get it out of his head … “Mommy love KK, KK love Mommy, Mommy love KK, KK love Mommy”, and it goes on & on….

Apparently babies love repetition.

Why has little KK been waking up consistently the past few nights at 4, 5am, and thereafter not able to fall back to sleep? If he can’t sleep, we can’t sleep either….

To sleep or not to sleep, that is the question

It’s 12.30am now. Kayden’s last feed was around 8.30pm, so technically we should have fed him again around 11.30pm. That would be ideal, so then he should be able to sleep through the night till about 7am.

If we don’t feed him now, his next wake-up time could well be 2-3 am, yelling his head off for milk.

And only when Kayden sleeps, we get to sleep.

So, the critical question now, as I type, at 12.30am, is: Should Kayden continue to sleep? Or should I wake him up now to feed?

Or should I just go to sleep now too, since I’m also tired, and let nature take its course. Who knows? Maybe Kayden will sleep till next morning?

To sleep or not to sleep…. that is the question.

Additions to our home

Today we’ve added 2 new items to our home – well technically 1 is officially in the house, & the other is on the way.

The first is our fridge, a sleek silver LG model, which only cost us $499! Ok, 529 inclusive of delivery. We thought it was a really good buy for that price, as we’ve been looking around & those that we liked were almost always above 1k. So now, great, tmr we can go shop for some groceries to fill up our fridge – grocery shopping together – something my Mrs loves to do.

The 2nd is our bed frame. We went to The Furniture Mall along Beach Rd. It’s really a gd place to get furniture, think it offers gd value. Got ourselves a nice plush looking bed frame. Can’t wait for it to be delivered!

Looks like we’re slowly but surely adding things to our home – feels like we’re slowly but surely building up our lives together.

Stop 2: Sofitel Metropole, Hanoi

Selection of breakfast mains from the menu – “We’ll have the omelette, pancakes, pho and oh, can we also have the scrambled eggs?” Yes, our room stay at the Sofitel Metropole in Hanoi included buffet breakfast, just that in addition to the usual buffet spread, we get to order a selection of mains (& yes, 2 of us blatantly ordered 4 mains) from the ala carte menu – perks for paying just about USD30 more a night to be on executive club metropole. Being on the executive club metropole also meant a bigger and nicer room, and breakfast served in the executive lounge.

The perks didn’t end there. There was complimentary afternoon high tea from 2.30 – 4.30pm, as well as evening drinks and refreshments from 5.30 – 7.30pm. And the drinks included free flow of champagne, wine, cocktails etc. Totally worth it.

As you would imagine, one could effectively not leave the hotel and survive comfortably. And that was pretty much what we did! We probably spent about 80% of our time within the 4 walls of Sofitel – the executive lounge, spa, pool, gym, restaurants (not that the restaurants were really necessary considering we were fed pretty much throughout the day) kept our day sufficiently occupied. The remaining 20%, well, of course we attempted venturing out, but let’s just say we still preferred Sofitel afterall.

Just felt like sharing

Just felt like sharing my random thoughts:

Just finished drafting the chinese emcee script for my bro who will be the emcee for our wedding banquet dinner – great sense of satisfaction!

Today we also tried out possibly our worst massage ever! It was so amateurish that I could only laugh.

We yesterday also did our very own thank you cards as part of our wedding favours – another great sense of satisfaction!

I was also thinking & told Mrs that we should have a nice little corner with all our wedding collectibles, like our invite card, wedding favours, DIY ang pow box (which is the best I’ve ever seen, really, I’m not bias here, wait till you see it, it’ll make you want to come back & give us another ang pow, ha! ;)), our wedding album etc. Then we’ll always look at our album, rather than what many say, the album is shelved & never looked at after the wedding day.

Can’t wait to build our home together – it’s more than just a home; it brings us closer together, stretch our imagination together, build our lives together…

I’m so happy!
