Have been pulling my hair out – just some, not all – over K’s education.

Yes, I know he’s not even 18 months, but a Google of “enrichment classes for toddlers” will show that 18 months is already too late to start these classes – most parents onĀ forums start sending their kids to 2-3 classes at the age of 6 months.

With classes ranging from music to right brain development to creative thinking to phonics to art & craft to gym classes… my mind is really spinning! I’ve been spending days nights poring through 40-pages-long forum, trying to sieve out which classes we should send K for.

And all this is sparked off because friends have been telling me it’s time to register K for nursery. Yes, he is only entering school in 2013, but the waiting list is SUPER LONG for the good schools, VERY LONG for the average schools, and LONG for any other school.

So I started doing research over what schools trump what, which teachers are better at where, which schools have better curriculum… And lo and behold, I stumble upon this whole new world of “enrichment classes”.

Apparently, you need to capitalise on that sponge brain they have at this tender age, and start training some genuis-y thinking in them.

I’ve shortlisted a phonics class, but the waiting list is long, and we don’t really have time to send him there on weekends (he already attends Kindermusik and Sunday School on weekends).

How? Sigh.
